We went out to the site this morning to meet with Sonia. We were there to talk about the kitchen layout and to pick up cabinet samples. We’re picking out cabinetry for every room that needs it. When we arrived we saw a couple of vans with ladders on them pulling up. It seems that the roofers were there to work on a Saturday. I was really curious how much they might get done in one day so we came back around 3pm. I still heard them working, but it was at the back of the house. The front wasn’t complete, but they’d made some pretty good progress.
We’ll probably drive by again tomorrow just because sometimes you just can’t keep away. I’ll bet that if they didn’t get done today then they probably will on Monday at some point.
We think that we’ve made our cabinet choices also. It only took a couple of hours. It’s a little difficult (or maybe easier) because we’re making the decision in a vacuum. We kind of know the wood and finish we’d like, and we kind of know the paint colors. We have a general look in mind for the countertops, but we really don’t know what we’re going to do about any tile anywhere in the house yet. I guess that one decision drives the next. It’s probably a good idea that the tile choice is still to come. There are a million different possibilities out there and hopefully some earlier choices will help narrow the decision a bit. We’ll see how it goes.
